Open University Woes
Regular readers (and especially Twitter followers) will know I’m not happy at all about the Open University course I’m doing: T214 – Understanding Systems: Making Sense of Complexity. It’s truly a terrible course and I’ll describe why when I’ve finally made a decision.
But giving up on it and trying a different line to my BSc (hons) in Technology is not an option. Because of the points from some of the classes I’ve ready studied expiring in 2011, if I want that Honours degree I have no option but to finish this course, and its follow-on course next year.
Or I could stop right now and accept an ordinary BSc.
I’m sorely tempted. Were I still interested in a career in IT, then I think I’d be more prepared to stick it out. But I chose to study for interest, and for fun. And this course and by implication the next, are neither interesting or fun.
Plus it would mean I could start studying more arts-related things next year, instead of in 2011…
